Enrollment Process for New Enrollment
Welcome parents and guardians,
Only new enrollment to Los Angeles Unified District need to Pre-Enroll and submit the following documents below:
All Documents can be submitted online through the District Pre-Enrollment Process (click here for Pre-Enrollment) or submitted in person.
- Birth Certificate or Passport
- Immunization Record - up to date
- Parent or Guardian Identification Card

Please submit one of the following acceptable documents:
- Utility service contract, bills or payment receipts (Gas, Water, or Electricity)
- Property taxes, rental or lease agreement, current rental receipt with address of property on receipt
- Official government mail (CalWORKS, Social Security, Medi-Cal)
- Current pay stub
- Voter registration
5. Enrollment Packet Completed (Download below)
6. If available/applicable you may also submit copies of:
- Transcripts or recent grade reports
- Copy of most recent Individual Educational Plan (IEP) or Section 504 Plan
- Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) 1399 Form or minute order
- Department of Probation placement information and/or Juvenile Court minute order
- Court orders regarding legal custody, physically custody, or restricted contact with the school or child
Returning LAUSD Students
- Completed Enrollment Packets (Download below) can be submitted in person or online through the Parent Portal.
- Log in to the parent portal website https://parentportalapp.lausd.net/parentaccess/ using your email and password.
- NOTE: If you have not registered in the parent portal click on Register for an account to be able to upload your student’s enrollment documents. This process is for current LAUSD students. It gives Parent/Caregivers the ability to send school related documents to their child’s school through the Parent Portal. This portal provides an electronic secure method for parents/caregivers to share documents with schools.
- All 6th Graders to Virgil need to submit the completed New-Enrollment Packet in person or Online through the Parent Portal.
- Return 7th and 8th Grade students need to submit the completed the Returning Enrollment Packet in person or Online through the Parent Portal.
- Updated Immunization Record - TDAP 7th Grade only
